Dad's coming home!

Yes the title is correct, dad just flew into Washington at 7:20 pm for his two week visit from Kuwait, and mom got to be the one at the airport to greet him. They are going to be staying at a hotel in Seattle till Sunday afternoon and then we get to see him and as you can imagine after having been deprived of our dear dad for 6 months we are all extremely excited.

While they are out shopping, enjoying dinner and other such novelties that mothers and fathers are entitled to, we children have been working ever so diligently on the house and yard making sure that everything is in perfect order. Monday Daniel and I finished some painting touchups in the kitchen, music room, and pantry.

Tuesday Phillip and Stephen Bradrick came over to help the boys build stairs outside, put edging around the back yard, and pressure wash the house.

Yesterday, and today we have been working on cleaning out closets and cupboards,
scrubbing floors, dusting furniture, and lastly everyone worked on cleaning and organizing the garage which was quite a chore.

As some of you may be wondering, just what do the Bittner children do when their parents are gone for three days? here is a little list that we pretty much happen to complete in the same order every single time ( except in the winter time we have tea parties instead of campfires)

1. we clean the house. because you can't have fun if everything isn't clean.
2. we make chocolate drop cookies. because it's our family's absolute favorite cookie.
3. we eat our cookies, drink our milk, and lick the bowl.
4. we make a fire on the back porch and eat pizza around it.
5. we sit and enjoy the fire.
6. we play volleyball.
7. we give the children baths, bible time, and bed.
8. we wonder what mom and dad are doing.
9. we post on our blogs.
10. we clean some more and go to bed.
